A contingent of Congressional members arrived in El Salvador Monday to advocate for the release of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador and incarcerated.

Reps. Robert Garcia (D-Long Beach) and Maxwell Frost (D-Fla.) led the effort to return Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was wrongly deported, back to the United States for a hearing.

The U.S. Supreme Court directed the Trump administration to facilitate Abrego Garcia's return, after Washington acknowledged he was deported to El Salvador due to an administrative error. The Trump administration says Abrego Garcia belongs to the criminal gang MS-13, but his lawyers have denied the allegation.
