News of the Sifu movie was revealed years ago, but with Netflix now involved, it shouldn't be too long before we get a trailer

We learned in December 2022 that a production company had signed on to turn Sloclap's excellent martial arts game Sifu into a film. Today, the news dropped that Netflix is involved with the project, which seems to have caused some personnel shuffling behind the scenes.

A movie based on the video game Sifu was first revealed back in 2022, and now it's gathering steam. It was confirmed today that Netflix has signed the movie, which is based on the Slocap game and will be produced by John Wick veteran Chad Stahelski's 87Eleven banner.

Netflix has joined the Sifu film project, adapting Sloclap's kung-fu roguelike for the big screen. The project was first revealed in 2022, with Story Kitchen producing - that's the company behind other video game adaptations like the Sonic the Hedgehog films, the forthcoming Tomb Raider and Streets of Rage adaptations, and more.

Writer: T.S. Nowlin is adapting and best known for writing THE MAZE RUNNER trilogy for 20th Century Fox and, most recently, co-writing THE ADAM PROJECT for Netflix.

Netflix is moving forward with the movie adaptation of the popular video game Sifu, having recently assigned T.S. Nowlin to write the script, replacing John Wick creator Derek Kolstad. T.S. Nowlin is known for his work on the Maze Runner trilogy and more.
