The man arrested on murder and arson charges in the death of a woman who was set on fire inside a subway train has been arraigned, while police said the identity of the victim was still “pending.”

Law enforcement officials reported that the suspect was apprehended at a different Manhattan subway station approximately eight hours after the attack.

New York Police have identified Debrina Kawam from New Jersey as the woman who died after being set on fire on a subway train in Brooklyn. Sebastian Zapeta has been charged with her murder following his arrest shortly after police publicly released his images.
