New York City Police say they’ve identified the woman who died on Dec. 22 after being set on fire while inside a New York subway train.

Sebastian Zapeta, a 33-year-old Guatemalan migrant was arrested for allegedly setting a sleeping subway passenger on fire, resulting in the victim's death.

The New York Police Department ( NYPD) on Tuesday announced they identified the woman who died after being set on fire while inside a New York City subway train as Debrina Kawam. Kawam, 57, had an address in Toms River, New Jersey, according to the NYPD.

BROOKLYN (CN) — New York Police announced on Tuesday that they have identified the woman who died after being set on fire while sleeping on a Coney Island-bound subway train on Dec. 22. Police said the 57-year-old woman, Debrina Kawam, had a Toms River, New Jersey address.

The 57-year-old, of Toms River, N.J., was set on fire as she slept in an F train stopped at the Coney Island-Stillwell Ave. station on Dec. 22.

Debrina Kawam, of Toms River, New Jersey, was sleeping inside a train car at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue station in Brooklyn on December 22 when the horrific incident occurred.
