The Dodge County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a UTV that broke through the ice on Sinissippi Lake in the Town of Hustisford on Sunday, Jan. 5.

Authorities in Wisconsin say the driver of a UTV was arrested for their first OWI offense after the UTV and two people went through the ice while driving on a lake Sunday evening. According to a release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office,

Two men were pulled from an icy lake after their UTV plunged through the ice, Wisconsin officials said. While neither man was seriously injured, the driver was placed under arrest once he was safely retrieved from the freezing water in Hustisford,

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said in a statement that deputies from the sheriff’s office responded to a report around 5 p.m. that a UTV had gone through the ice on Sinissippi Lake in the town of Hustisford.

The UTV was reported to have gone through ice as it was heading north on Sinissippi Lake around 5 p.m. Sunday, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office explained in a Facebook post on

Schmidt said the preliminary investigation shows that the UTV, a 2024 Polaris, was traveling north on Sinissippi Lake when it went through the ice. The Hustisford Fire Department worked in coordination with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and was able to successfully pull both people from the UTV out of the water and back to shore.
