The Georgia Department of Agriculture announced all poultry activities in the state are suspended after the bird flu was confirmed in a commercial poultry operation in Elbert County.

Two cases of confirmed bird flu have been discovered in close proximity. Commercial poultry operations within 10 kilometers remain under quarantine.

Another case of bird flu has been confirmed on a Georgia farm, this time hitting a larger poultry operation near the site of the state’s first commercial case. The second case was caught through “routine,
