California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) on Sunday formally that requested President Trump's administration withdraw the National Guard from Los Angeles County, where troops are responding to immigration raid protests.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) requested that the Trump administration revoke its order deploying 2,000 National Guard members to Los Angeles, arguing it is an “unlawful” and “serious breach of state sovereignty.

Gov. Gavin Newsom’s office, in a letter to the Trump administration, called the deployment of troops “unlawful” and a “serious breach of state sovereignty.”
