A tropical system in the Caribbean Sea could develop as it moves northward into the Gulf of Mexico, the National Hurricane Center says.

National Hurricane Center is continuing to forecast the development of a tropical disturbance that could move into the Gulf of Mexico next week and become a tropical depression. The disturbance hasn’t formed yet,

The area of low-pressure in the Caribbean has a chance of developing into a tropical system early to the middle of next week, forecasters said. As of Friday morning, the system had a 0% chance of forming in the next two days and a 40% chance of development in the next week as it moves from the northwestern Caribbean into the southern Gulf of Mexico.
