TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- It was a game of missed opportunities for the Crimson Tide as No. 17 Georgia softball opened the series in Tuscaloosa with a 4-3 victory over No. 25 Alabama. The Crimson Tide stranded nine runners on the evening and squandered numerous opportunities as its conference troubles continue.

Alabama dropped its conference series to Texas A&M in College Station last weekend, the Crimson Tide taking one of three games against the Aggies. The Crimson Tide picked up a 4-2 midweek win over North Alabama on Wednesday night but is still looking for its first conference series win of the season.
