An Iowa native with a track record of success at the Division I level is taking over the Drake men's basketball program.

The Drake Bulldogs have a new men's basketball coach as, according to The Field of 68's Jeff Goodman, they're hiring South Dakota State's Eric Henderson for the vacant position. The team later announced the news on its website.

Eric Henderson is leaving South Dakota State basketball to accept the head coaching job at Drake. The 46-year-old Nebraska native spent six seasons at the helm of the Jackrabbits, leading them to two NCAA Tournament appearances. He compiled a 129-60 record in Brookings.
