President Trump announced plans to issue an executive order aimed at the Smithsonian Institution, targeting funding for programs promoting what he calls “divisive narratives” and “improper ideology,” as part of his broader push against liberal culture.
Trump signed an executive order late Thursday titled “Restoring Truth and Sanity to American History.” It calls for prohibiting federal spending on “exhibits or programs that degrade shared American values, divide Americans based on race, or promote programs or ideologies inconsistent with Federal law and policy.”
