Formulas marketed for toddlers are a burgeoning business, but pediatricians have long recommended against their use.

Abbott Laboratories “purposely marketed” toddler milks to portray them as the next recommended step in a child’s diet – but the sugary drinks can actually cause health issues like obesity, according to a lawsuit.

The Public Health Advocacy Institute filed the suit in federal court Tuesday, calling toddler milk a marketing ploy to keep parents and caregivers using Abbott products as their children age.
