Despite the pitch from Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders and the quick social media acceptance from Orange coach Fran Brown, the two sides were denied a waiver for a joint spring game, the Division I FBS oversight committee announced Friday.

Colorado's athletic director is disappointed the NCAA isn't allowing his football program to play another FBS school as a spring game.

While the NCAA appears to have its reasons for keeping Colorado and Syracuse from having a joint spring experience, fans are the ones who probably miss out the most. With the decision made, Colorado is expected to hold its spring game on April 19 after the Orange hold theirs on April 12.
