A lawyer with limited political experience, Luisa González is vying for Ecuador’s presidency for a second time.

The presidential candidate of the Correísmo movement, Luisa González, celebrated on Sunday the results of the first round of elections in Ecuador, calling it a "great victory," and expressed confidence that she would secure first place to face current president and re-election candidate,

The right-wing incumbent is set to face his left-leaning rival, Luisa Gonzalez, in a second round of voting in April.
