Seven months after the tragic death of 7-year-old Piper Elliott in Hendersonville, her dad and the community came together to honor her memory.

Hendersonville police said her mother, Brandi Elliott, fatally drowned Piper Elliott in a creek in July 2024. Now, there is a permanent memorial in her honor: a bench, near the spot where she died.

After months of discussion, Hendersonville city officials approved pay raises for their entire police department Tuesday.
