Kate Middleton is starting 2025 on a positive note. In a letter posted to her and husband Prince William’s Instagram, the Princess of Wales announced that she’s officially in remission after battling cancer throughout 2024.

Catherine, Princess of Wales, said on Tuesday that her cancer was in remission, lifting a major cloud from the British royal family, which had struggled with serious health concerns for both her and King Charles III. “It is a relief to now be in remission and I remain focused on recovery,” Catherine, the wife of Prince William, wrote on Instagram.

The Princess of Wales, who revealed in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer after speculation surrounding her whereabouts, said on Tuesday she is in remission.

The problem is that a complete remission does not mean the cancer is gone. Even when a cancer is “cured” — defined as no evidence of cancer for five years — it may not be vanquished.
