Early on in the NFL offseason, the Minnesota Vikings were linked quite often to future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers. While the rumors were there and the team did look into the option, the Vikings chose not to pursue signing him.

Now with Rodgers heading to the Steelers, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell gave a little peek behind the conversations with the 41-year-old future Hall of Famer in the offseason.

Kevin O’Connell had the chance to bring Aaron Rodgers to Minnesota. He didn’t take it. Instead, the Vikings head coach made a choice that raised eyebrows across the NFL, choosing to roll with 22-year-old JJ McCarthy over the four-time MVP quarterback.
