Tyrese Maxey is expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the 76ers’ season with a thumb sprain, according to an ESPN report Thursday, though coach Nick Nurse would not publicly confirm that plan during his pregame news conference ahead of a home matchup against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey will miss the rest of the season due to a finger injury, according to ESPN. Maxey has not played since March 3 because of a lower back sprain and what the team termed a sprained finger on his right hand.

ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday that Maxey is “expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a finger tendon injury.” The 24-year-old guard is “still dealing with discomfort and needs treatment,” Charania reported.
