With shrinking user bases, the market share of Jio, Airtel, and Vi fell in July. Jio’s market share dropped to 40.68 per cent, Airtel’s fell to 33.12 per cent, and Vi’s slipped to 18.46 per cent.

In a big boost to state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the telco has reported a huge 2.93 million increase in subscribers in July 2024, while other telecom operators such as Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vi reported a substantial decline in their subscriber base.

BSNL has added lakhs of new subscribers after the tariff hike from major telecom operators such as Jio, Airtel, and Vi. BSNL's market share now reached 7.59 percent.
