Sheeran, 33, posted a clip of the interaction Sept. 17 Instagram, explaining in his caption that he was filming a video on a boat when he spotted the woman running on a nearby sidewalk.

On Tuesday, Sept. 17, the English singer-songwriter shared footage of the moment one lucky fan was out for a run and Sheeran, 33, gave them the surprise of a lifetime. As seen in the now-viral clip, the "Thinking Out Loud" singer filmed a video while floating in a boat down a canal when he noticed a runner jogging on the land nearby.

A Devon woman was the lucky runner who was stopped and serenaded by pop superstar Ed Sheeran. The video, which has been shared thousands of times has been branded 'the best video on the internet'.

The runner, Nikki Atkins, was going for a leisurely jog on what looks like Regent's Canal when she looked over and there was the megastar, Ed Sheeran in a canal boat. Ed waves, says hello and asks if Nikki has any requests. She racks her brain quickly and asks for Tenerife Sea which Ed breaks into almost immediately.
