Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department have charged 41-year-old Djalma Gordon with the overnight murder of a woman in the 2200 block of Ringling Boulevard.

Sarasota police say a man has been charged with murder in Louisiana after a woman's body was found inside a Sarasota home on Tuesday night.

Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department on Wednesday charged 41-year-old Djalma Johan Gordon of Sarasota in the murder of a woman in the 2200 block of Ringling Boulevard.

Sarasota Police detectives responded to the residence to conduct a welfare check on Tuesday at 8 p.m. After entering the home, officers found a woman dead. Investigators determined that she was the victim of homicidal violence.
