A Brooklyn Park couple is receiving growing support from the community after a light aircraft crashed into their home on Saturday, destroying it. Mary Butler and Kenneth Tobacman are living at a hotel after their home burned down following the plane crash, which claimed the life of pilot Terry Dolan, a 63-year-old executive at U.S. Bancorp.
The pilot was the sole fatality and there were no other injuries after a plane crashed through the roof of a Brooklyn Park house on Saturday, officials said in a news conference. One person inside the home was able to escape without injuries. A second resident was not home at the time, Brooklyn Park Fire Chief Shawn Conway said Sunday.
The pilot perished in the crash, authorities said. Terry Dolan, a U.S. Bancorp executive, is believed to have been on board, a company spokesperson said.
Brooklyn Park fire officials said they don't believe there are any survivors of the plane, and it is unclear at this time how many people were on board.
