Now that one rumored Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con feature seems to be confirmed, the console just needs a specific companion peripheral to go with it.

After the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal this morning, those rumors that you might be able to use your Joy-Con as a mouse are looking preeeeeeeeeetty good. During the reveal trailer, there's a moment where a pair of detached Joy-Cons are lowered onto a surface,

Perhaps more importantly, the video shows the Joy-Con clicking onto a separate piece before going into mouse mode. This other piece looks like it has some small pads on the bottom, like a computer mouse would, to make it a little easier to slide around.
