The dress code for the 2025 Met Gala has been announced, and this year menswear is taking center stage.

Met Gala guests, suit up! That was the order from on high as the Metropolitan Museum of Art revealed the dress code for its annual lavish celebration of fashion in May: “Tailored for You,” a nod to the accompanying exhibit’s focus on suiting and menswear.

With the Met Gala 2025—cochaired by Colman Domingo, Pharrell Williams, A$AP Rocky and more— just months away, Vogue has unveiled the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” theme’s official dress code.

Believe it or not, the Met Gala 2025 is fast approaching and we already know a few of the details about the annual event. Each year, we all tune in to see our favorite celebrities and artists celebrate fashion by interpreting a theme set forth by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and this year is no different.

Composed of clothing, photographs, fine art, historical texts, and artifacts, it’s the first Costume Institute exhibit to focus on menswear since 2003’s “Men in Skirts,” and was inspired by Guest Curator Monica L.

The evening's dress code will be "Tailored for You," and The Met will also bring back a host committee that includes actors, artists, athletes and more.

The upcoming show at the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art - which takes place on 5 May - will be titled, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style", and will explore dandyism in Black style and fashion, as inspired by Monica L. Miller's book, Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity.
