Clearly impressing New Orleans with his first interview, Dolphins defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver is brought back as a finalist for the Saints’ head coaching job.
The Bears, who interviewed Anthony Weaver for their head coaching vacancy, are going in a different direction.
For starters, Weaver is a former player. His time with the Ravens and Texans saw him play for Brian Billick and Gary Kubiak. He has coached in the NFL since 2012, working under Rex Ryan and the Jets to start as an assistant defensive line coach. He also played under Ryan when he was with the Ravens. Now, Ryan is of the John Harbaugh tree.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter is now reporting that the Saints have been able to set up some in-person interviews with their top remaining candidates.
For some of those teams, that will involve finding new head coaches and/or General Managers. Three teams fired their head coaches during the season and two more have been dispatched as of 9 a.m. ET on January 6.
