There has been a dramatic drop in the number of people gathering at the U.S. border and trying to cross. Can it help Mexico stave off President Trump’s threatened tariffs?

Mexico has extradited 29 alleged criminals to the United States, among them the so-called “narco of narcos” Rafael Caro Quintero, many accused of murder and several alleged members of cartels now designated as Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

The lower appellate court ruled that Mexico had “plausibly” claimed that the manufacturers did aid and abet the illegal trafficking of guns “by passing along guns knowing that the purchasers include unlawful buyers, and making design and marketing decisions targeted towards those exact individuals.”

President Sheinbaum said that 15,611 of the deportees — almost 80% of the total — are Mexican, while the remaining 4,052 are foreigners.
