The dynamic duo of James Gunn and Peter Safran answered the Bat-Signal to give an update on The Brave and the Bold. ComicBook attended a presser on the Warner Bros. studio lot in Burbank, where the co-chairmen and CEOs of DC Studios briefed reporters and answered questions about the state of the DC Universe.

While the new DCU is launching with Superman, the franchise doesn't have a Batman, and the studio's heads weigh in on a possible choice close to home.

Looks like James Gunn thought people were getting a little too brave and bold with their The Brave and the Bold theories. Speculation and/or manifestation that The Batman star Robert Pattinson would also play Batman in the wider DC Universe only increased after The Batman director Matt Reeves gave a noncommittal answer about the possibility in a January interview at the Golden Globes.

Robert Pattinson is most likely not going to have a role in the DCU, but never say never. DC Studios boss James Gunn said that it was "very unlikely" (via Variety) and "certainly not the plan" (via Collider) that Robert Pattinson would play Batman in upcoming The Brave and the Bold.

James Gunn and Peter Safran have confirmed The Brave and the Bold will introduce a new Batman into the DCU, ruling out actor Robert Pattinson in the process. Speaking during a DC Studios presentation attended by IGN,

It’s official! Robert Pattinson’s Batman is not a part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU plans. As per reports, Pattinson will not be playing the Caped Crusader for The Brave and the Bold which is an upcoming DC Studios film set in James Gunn's completely new DCU continuity.
