Even as he faces serious charges, Sanjay Roy, the lone accused in the RG Kar rape and murder case, remains persistent in his requests for preferential treatment

The court proceedings were being held in-camera daily since Monday. Two junior doctors of R G Kar Medical College and Hospital deposed before the judge on Wednesday as the proceedings began at 2 pm.

The trial in the RG Kar rape-murder case begins as accused Sanjay Roy claims he's been framed, naming senior officers. The case has sparked national outrage since August.

Key accused Sanjay Roy was present in the court during the trial. He was brought to the court in the afternoon while the proceedings were being held. Outside the court after the proceedings, Roy alleged that he was framed by senior police officers, including former Kolkata police commissioner Vineet Goyal.

A total of six witnesses have deposed in the case so far, and the prime accused was brought to the court under heavy police arrangements

While being taken from the Sealdah Court on Monday after the hearing, accused Sanjay Roy from the police van shouted at the reporters claiming that he was falsely framed.
