The suspected perpetrator in the car ramming attack which has killed at least two people in Mannheim on Monday is a 40-year-old German from Ludwigshafen with previous convictions related to drunk driving and right-wing hate speech.

At least one person has been killed and several others have been injured after a car rammed into pedestrians in the southwestern German city of Mannheim, local police said Monday.

An 83-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man were killed and several more were injured Monday in a suspected car-ramming in the west German city of Mannheim, officials said.
