Human remains have been found in a suitcase that was drifting in the East River in New York City, police said.

Human remains were found inside a suitcase that was floating in the East River near Governor’s Island on Wednesday evening, according to cops and law enforcement sources. A passing vessel spotted the suitcase and alerted police before an NYPD Harbor Unit was dispatched at around 5:30 p.m., cops said.
