Francisco Lindor said an MRI of his ailing back on Monday did not detect any structural damage and he hopes to return to the New York Mets lineup this week. “I’m great, I’m great,” the shortstop said before Monday’s series opener against Washington.

Naturally, the organization breathed a sigh of relief when they learned of Lindor’s results. With the Mets facing the Nationals, who have the third-worst record (68-81) in the NL, in a three-game set, he could be back for when the Phillies come to Queens for four games beginning on Thursday.

The good news is that Lindor's MRI on Monday revealed no structural damage, which has him listed as day-to-day. But at this point, there is still no timetable for when he might be back in the Mets' starting lineup.
