CT The pipeline fire that burned for four days on the border of Deer Park and La Porte has finally stopped burning. The flame stopped hours after police said human remains were found inside the white SUV that was pulled from the site on Thursday morning.

The La Porte Office of Emergency Management, citing information from pipeline owner Energy Transfer, announced the blaze had been extinguished late Thursday. The office said in a statement posted to X that Spencer Highway will remain closed from Luella to Canada Road until the area is completely secured.
