The home of the Minnesota Wild needs a facelift, and officials with both Xcel Energy Center and the City of St. Paul are looking for the state to pay for at least half of it.

The Minnesota Wild and the city of St. Paul are requesting over $394 million from the state government to fund renovations at the Xcel Energy Center Arena Complex.

The costs for renovations are estimated at $769 million. The city is asking the state to pay for half of those costs, with the Minnesota Wild owner funding 30% and the city putting forward the other 20%. City officials said this is its top priority for the 2025 legislative session.
