A 20-year-old Temple University student from Maryland was shot and killed Thursday night near the university’s campus in North Philadelphia by another student who is now charged with murder, police said.

Police responded to the 1500 block of North Carlisle Street off Temple University's campus and found a 20-year-old student who had been shot in the chest.

The suspected shooter was arrested at the scene – a short distance from the university's main campus. Investigators say they recovered two guns and a bag of drugs.
