A trial that will decide the fate of the City of Boston’s $200 million public-private plan to rehab White Stadium for a pro soccer team ended with closing arguments focused on the plaintiffs’ main claim that the use will privatize protected parkland.

On the even of the trial, a judge ruled that the case will be narrower in scope than the project's opponents had hoped.

Closing arguments in the White Stadium renovation trial wrapped up Thursday, the attorneys covering well-trodden legal ground on the third and final day. Superior Court judge Matthew Nestor said that unless other court matters derail the time he will need to pore over the substantial evidence and testimony,
