Fans from Missouri and all over the U.S. took in the sights, sounds and smells of New Orleans on Friday to kick off the Super Bowl weekend. About a dozen food vendors lined Woldenberg Park in downtown New Orleans to welcome the weekend of the big game.

Louisiana Culture Festival is a great option for families who want to explore the history of New Orleans. Open Feb. 7 and 8 at the French Market, the festival features several local artists, dancers, regional cuisine, Louisiana crafts and free activities for kids. The festival is open from 11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ahead of the Super Bowl in New Orleans, the convention center there has been turned into a football theme park for fans. It's a popular stop. "We have a lot of games, a lot of shopping, a lot of content, something for fans of all ages," NFL Senior Director of Events Nicki Ewell said.
