Moscow and the Moscow region are being attacked by strike drones. Residents of the capital and settlements in the Moscow region are reporting explosions and smoke, according to a Telegram post by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin,

Ukrainian drones targeted Moscow and the surrounding region around 7:00 a.m. local time on Friday, according to Russian media reports.

At least 60 Ukrainian drones targeting the Russian capital have been shot down in a massive attack on Tuesday morning, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said.

Ukraine attacked Moscow with drones overnight the morning after Vladimir Putin rejected a temporary ceasefire mediated by the US. Russian air defences repelled four drones which were flying towards the capital, according to Sergei Sobyanin, the city’s mayor. Mr Sobyanin said there was little damage and no casualties.

Massive drone strikes on Moscow left a trail of destruction in residential areas in Ukraine’s largest ever attack on the city according to local officials. The attacks come as the U.S. and Ukraine delegations are engaged in pivotal negotiations in Saudi Arabia over a possible minerals deal in exchange for security guarantees.

The assault, which the mayor called the largest on Russia’s capital since the war began, was a reminder of Ukraine’s power to strike as its president proposes an air truce.

Explosions were heard in the city of Moscow and Moscow Oblast on the morning of 14 March, with columns of smoke being visible. The authorities have reported a drone attack, claiming that four UAVs were downed.
