An appeals court ruled Thursday that California’s law banning gun magazines that hold more than 10 rounds of ammunition can remain in place, a decision that prompted one judge to record an unusual video dissent that shows him loading guns in his chambers.

Ninth Circuit Judge Lawrence VanDyke shared a video of him going over the components of several handguns in his chambers, as part of his dissent over a California gun law.

The 18-minute video was part of Judge Lawrence VanDyke’s dissent to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit's holding that large-capacity magazines are neither “arms” nor necessary accessories to operate an “arm” protected by the Second Amendment.
