Frank Reich has no illusions about a long-term future as the 36th head coach of the Stanford football program. Next year, general manager Andrew Luck will hire a 37th head coach and everybody knows it.

Stanford was in the market for a new head coach after firing Troy Taylor due to his alleged workplace behavior. Taylor reportedly bullied and belittled female athletic staffers. The university initially stood by Taylor, but reversed course a few days later, firing the head coach. In two seasons with Stanford, Taylor went 6-18.

Andrew Luck played for Reich in 2018, passing for 4,593 yards, 39 touchdowns and 15 interceptions as the Colts went 10-6 and made the AFC playoffs.
