Raleigh Police released its initial report Tuesday regarding the officer who was shot in the line of duty last week.

The preliminary information released by Raleigh police paint a clearer picture of the Jan. 21 officer-involved shooting on Democracy Street.

Eight days after a Raleigh police officer was seriously injured during a standoff with a shooter, a local foundation is raising money to support his recovery. First Class Officer M.A. Gillick was shot Jan. 21 by Antonio Rodrigues, The News & Observer previously reported.
