No. 1 LSU (43-14) will sit back and await their NCAA Tournament fate across the next 24 hours with the program preparing for postseason baseball in Baton Rouge.

LSU baseball never got anything going against Ole Miss as its stay at the SEC Tournament ends in the semifinals Saturday afternoon.

Southern Mississippi is also one of those sixteen host sites selected to host a Regional. The other schools hosting include: Arkansas, Auburn, Clemson, Coastal Carolina, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas, UCLA, and Vanderbilt.

By being awarded a regional, all 16 host institutions have also been selected to the 64-team championship field.

A season that started as a consensus preseason No. 1 for Texas A&M baseball now looks to be ending without an appearance in the postseason. The 14th-seeded Aggies (28-25, 11-19) came into the week knowing a conference title was the only way to ensure a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
