Ryan Hartman of the Minnesota Wild has been suspended 10 games for slamming an opponent's head to the ice with his right arm on a faceoff.

Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman was suspended 10 games by the NHL Department of Player Safety on Monday "for using his forearm to violently slam the head of Ottawa Senators forward Tim Stützle into the ice" during Saturday's matchup.

Ryan Hartman has been suspended 10 games for his match penalty in Ottawa - the longest in #mnwild history. His 5th suspension. He’s eligible to return March 9 and remain on 23-man roster. Hartman has 48 hours to decide whether he wants to appeal to NHL Commish Gary Bettman.
