A federal judge on Friday blocked the Trump administration from revoking the temporary protected status of roughly 5,000 Venezuelans who are in the U.S.

A federal judge has granted protection from deportation and work permits to as many as 5,000 Venezuelans who have Temporary Protected Status.

A U.S. appeals court on Friday refused to allow President Donald Trump's administration to carry out mass layoffs of federal workers and a restructuring of agencies, leaving a lower court order in place that blocked the sweeping government overhaul.

The Trump administration has been dealt a flurry of legal setbacks by courts across the country since Trump took office.

The ruling is intended to extend a financial lifeline to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty amid Lake-led efforts to gut them.

Judge Hannah Dugan's legal team expanded their motion to dismiss her case, citing judicial immunity. The judge is accused of helping an illegal immigrant evade ICE agents.

The group of 138 former judges called the prosecution of judge Hannah Dugan an "egregious overreach by the executive branch."
