Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (September 21, 2024) said there is peace along the borders in Jammu and Kashmir as Pakistan fears Prime Minister Narendra Modi and would dare to open fire.

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], September 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a public gathering today, asserting that the upcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir is a chance to end the dominance of the Gandhi, Abdullah, and Mufti families. He accused these families of undermining democracy since India's independence.

Shah was addressing an election rally in this border area in the Union territory's Poonch district in support of BJP candidate Murtaza Khan. He lauded the BJP-led Centre for wiping out terrorism by replacing guns and stones in the hands of youngsters with laptops and said his government would not allow guns to resonate in the hills of Jammu region.

Mallikarjun Kharge denied accusations by PM Modi and Amit Shah that the Congress-National Conference alliance in Jammu and Kashmir aligns with Pakistan's interests. He asserted that Congress prioritises local welfare.

He is also expected to hold a rally in the Nowshera constituency in support of Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina on Sunday.
