Blue Diamond plant in Sacramento, officials explain what's next to close,
Hundreds of Blue Diamond Growers employees in Sacramento will lose their jobs after the company announced Friday that it will shut down operations at its Midtown plant. Blue Diamond said it plans to streamline its operations at its Turlock and Salida locations because the roughly 50-acre Sacramento plant has become "too costly and inefficient.
Blue Diamond will begin closing its Sacramento processing facility. About 600 workers will be affected by the action.
Blue Diamond says that they will transfer most of the manufacturing operations to their facilities in Turlock and Salida.
