Dr. Monica Longo is a specialty care physician board certified in maternal-fetal medicine and obstetrics and gynecology at Inova Health System. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Longo worked as an associate professor in the maternal-fetal medicine division at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Since 1996, Dr. Longo’s research has focused on the cardiovascular adaptations during pregnancy and its dysregulation as occurs in preeclampsia, hypertension, metabolic syndrome and diabetes. She investigates the implications of an adverse uterine environment on the long-term health of offspring and assessing long-term maternal health following adverse pregnancy outcomes.
