While we visited there were many who were walking the grounds but not on the tour. The entrance fee and tour fees are separate. The only issue may be a late afternoon event on the grounds that may prevent walking around freely-while we were there and as our tour was finishing the grounds crew was setting up for an outdoor wedding ceremony, cocktail hour and reception in and around the mansion.
Q:
Are backpacks allowed and is there a place to leave them in the mansion?
A:
On our tour no one asked to “check” their bag. Nearby at the Armour/Stiner Octagon House, however, purses, backpacks, etc. had to be locked in our cars.
Q:
What are your Saturday hours and are there regularly scheduled tours?
A:
I am sorry but I dont know Saturday hours. Yes there are regularly scheduled tours.
Q:
We are planning to come with an RV. It's 39' long. Is there bus/RV parking available?
A:
Yes, they have RV spots. They are not the closest spots, but then you get to see more of the beautiful grounds!
